Siemens

Siemens

I was heavily involved in the production of this film for Siemens to accompany a large-scale US federal government bid process to do with rail infrastructure. Produced through Future Sun Films, we shot on both coasts of the US with local crews and actors and liaised with a CGI house in the Czech Republic in post.

Because of confidentiality and the technical nature of this project we have removed all of the sensitive details regarding the bid from this edit.

It was a project that required the balance of creative story-telling with highly technical elements related to design details. As director/editor I was overseeing CGI animators in Slovakia, cast and crews in NYC and LA and post-production back in the UK. Despite all this and our client working across three time zones spanning nine hours, we fulfilled their expectations, amendments and requirement changes and the film was eventually well-received.

Albion in the Community

Albion in the Community

I made several films for Brighton and Hove Albion FC’s charity. They formed part of a Cancer Awareness campaign designed to reach out to the local community in coastal Sussex. The first film centered around people living with cancer and their stories.

These two prostate cancer awareness films were played to the stadium crowd during match day half-time. They featured current and ex-player Craig Mackail-Smith and Guy Butters and ex-manager Alan Mullory.

Andrew Lane is an award-winning contemporary furniture designer from Monmouth. He is also my brother and I have been looking after his branding and marketing needs for many years. Initially, he wanted a brand that would reflect the design ethos of his furniture and show off this work with some striking photographs.
By defining Andrew’s own design philosophy it was possible to create a set of rules to follow that always reflect that philosophy. At its core, Andrew Lane Furniture is about ergonomically thoughtful design with clean lines and a contemporary twist.

Evans Cycles

Evans Cycles

With the resurgence of cycling in recent years, Evans Cycles have been running organised rides all over the UK for several years. Having already worked with them on a huge online tutorial series, the client asked me to make promotional films for their Ride It events.

We shot over two weekends in and around the Surrey and Sussex countryside; covering around 150 miles of cycle routes, on and off road. From early morning registration to late afternoon exhaustion, the films give a true picture of what these rides are like – fun/gruelling/masochistic, depending on your point of view – and helped their popularity grow.
Produced specifically for Evans’ YouTube channel, the Sportive footage was also used by Eurosport to cut a 30″ TV spot which ran during the Tour de France.

American Express

American Express

I directed commercials for the American Express campaign ‘Simple to Pay’ by Fortune Cookie/POSSIBLE. Designed to engage with business users, the films dramatise different scenarios where using your card might get you out of a tight spot.
